To prepare the celebrations on the Independence Day, the meetings are usually held in the capital, Islamabad. Almost all the government and private offices are closed on 14th August. Moreover, the organizations, markets, educational institutions, post offices and other prominent places remain closed. To finalize the preparations, state officials, diplomats and politicians attend the meetings with the beginning of August.

Special shops and stalls are also set with the national flags, posters, banners, pictures of Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah and other national heroes. Homes, offices, vehicles, streets, roads and commercial buildings are decorated with flags. Beside all these preparations, educational institutions and government departments organize seminars, cultural activities, sports events and other activities. They start with the special prayers for the integrity, development and solidarity of the country. These prayers are held at the mosques.

Both Prime Minister and President address the nation in the live telecast at the official TV Channel. Moreover, politicians, celebrities and other government officials deliver the patriotic speeches that highlight the achievements of our greatest leader Mohammad Ali Jinnah. The speech also include the achievements of national heroes.

Children and many teenagers wear official flag colours i.e. green and white to show their true love with the nation. They also wear flag designed t-shirts, caps and badges. On 14th August, the public transport remains unavailable in all the major cities of Pakistan. Even then, the traffic jam is a routine especially on the Mall road, Lahore.

Pakistan was the dream of Allama Iqbal, because he was against the rule of Hindus on Muslims in India. He presented his idea in 1930 for a separate Islamic state, where Muslims can live according to their religion. With the grace of Allah and the efforts of Mohammad Ali Jinnah as well as other leaders, Pakistan came into being on 14th of August.
