Independence Day of Pakistan – A Day to highlight the achievement of our great leaders
Independence Day of Pakistan is regarded as one of the
special days of country. This is among the six holidays, celebrated in the entire
country.
To prepare the celebrations on the Independence Day, the
meetings are usually held in the capital, Islamabad. Almost all the government
and private offices are closed on 14th August. Moreover, the
organizations, markets, educational institutions, post offices and other
prominent places remain closed. To finalize the preparations, state officials,
diplomats and politicians attend the meetings with the beginning of August.
Special shops and stalls are also set with the national
flags, posters, banners, pictures of Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah and other
national heroes. Homes, offices, vehicles, streets, roads and commercial
buildings are decorated with flags. Beside all these preparations, educational
institutions and government departments organize seminars, cultural activities,
sports events and other activities. They start with the special prayers for the
integrity, development and solidarity of the country. These prayers are held at
the mosques.
Both Prime Minister and President address the nation in the
live telecast at the official TV Channel. Moreover, politicians, celebrities
and other government officials deliver the patriotic speeches that highlight
the achievements of our greatest leader Mohammad Ali Jinnah. The speech also
include the achievements of national heroes.
Children and many teenagers wear official flag colours i.e.
green and white to show their true love with the nation. They also wear flag
designed t-shirts, caps and badges. On 14th August, the public
transport remains unavailable in all the major cities of Pakistan. Even then,
the traffic jam is a routine especially on the Mall road, Lahore.
Pakistan was the dream of Allama Iqbal, because he was
against the rule of Hindus on Muslims in India. He presented his idea in 1930
for a separate Islamic state, where Muslims can live according to their
religion. With the grace of Allah and the efforts of Mohammad Ali Jinnah as
well as other leaders, Pakistan came into being on 14th of August.
